With yoga instructors Anila Lacroix and Brant Forrester

October 12-19th, 2014

Floating Leaf Eco-Retreat ~ Bali, Indonesia

Take a moment to return to yourself.  This may be called a retreat, but we view this time as reflection, a time to return to your best state of internal balance. Your day will start with an articulate and consciously guided morning meditation, feeling the warmth of the morning sun on your skin and the breath of the gentle breeze will inspire your breath practice.  Imagine knowing that each day holds a new experience for you, but each morning being so soulful that you could live in the moment forever.

We have combined our extensive yoga studies to bring a dedicated practice built for you, and will teach you how to make your practice nourish you long after Bali. We will lead yoga classes of Yin, hatha and Power, while guiding meditation and philosophy practices throughout each day.  You can follow our schedule fully, or decide to stay and get pampered at either the outdoor or indoor spa.  After hearing about each days offerings, the choice is yours, but it will be tough!  You will have the opportunity to visit local villages and temples, go to the beach, walk up a volcano and stroll through the rice fields.  Our hosts at The Floating Leaf have designed an amazing offering, and their internationally acclaimed food is farm to table fresh.  You will be nourished in every sense, empowered and fulfilled.

Who is Anila Lacroix?

Anila is a fierce and compassionate woman who will playfully challenge your self-inquiry  Her yoga journey began with her father, who instilled in her the philosophy, meditation and breath awareness techniques that continue to see her through life’s occasional turbulence. This early practice led to the exploration of yoga and a continual drive to learn, teach and absorb.

She is greatly inspired by Baba Hari Das, a silent monk who advises dedicated curiosity.  Anila weaves a textured blend of life stories, meditation, philosophy and anatomy together to foster connection in her classes.

Anila holds the E-RYT500 from Yoga Alliance, and is currently a teacher trainer with YYoga for their 200 and 500hr programs, as well as with Salt Spring Center of Yoga for their 200hr program.  She has trained extensively with the community of Baba Hari Das, and taken other teacher trainings in meditation, yin, anusara and kids yoga.  She continues to study with her peers and teachers, and believes that the best teachers are forever students.

Who is Brant Forrester?

Brant is a playful student of life whose quest on the spiritual path was kick started through martial arts, leading to the philosophies of yoga practiced as he sailed the Caribbean. Brant is a lion-hearted sage who can make the most complicated lessons relatable and simple, while endowing his students with a stronger sense of self on their own life journeys.

As he weaves his unique blend of fantabulous facts with silly seriousness, his students will always hear the inspirational teachings of his teacher, Baba Hari Dass, and those of Bob Marley. Although his personal reading time is spent exploring genetics, quantum physics, brain science and anatomy, he’ll happily discuss the zen of the hammock any time.

Brant holds the E-RYT500 from Yoga Alliance, and is currently a teacher trainer with YYoga for their 200 and 500hr programs, as well as with Salt Spring Center of Yoga for their 200hr program.
