As the seasons change, many of us find ourselves drawing inward and slowing down naturally. This process can have many benefits when harnessed and used consciously. We can all use a little time to slow down and step out of the responsibilities that define most of our day to day life. However, if this slowing down continues unabated we can quickly find ourselves withdrawn, overwhelmed and even depressed.
It is easy to believe that the only relief from daily life stressors is down time . This is a half truth. To have effective relaxation, balance is required. To lay on a beach for a week is rarely balancing mentally or physically. Much like the experience of Savasana, truly deep restoration occurs after invigorating and fulfilling experience and activity.
Your mind and body are like a battery and will only recharge while running.
