Floating Leaf is indebted to the people and communities of Bali.
We do all we can to give back. We aim to include philanthropic aspects in all of our tours, retreats and experiences. The people of this island have been so good to us, we want to do what we can to reciprocate.
We encourage participants to bring clothing, children’s toys, books, medical supplies and anything else that may be helpful to the people in some of Bali’s more impoverished villages. Allowing our guests to interact with, talk to and connect with the individuals receiving their gifts, is one of the most memorable parts of their vacation in Bali.
Philanthropic projects and charity in Bali
More ambitious charitable works take place as well. Floating Leaf can arrange for projects involving the construction of water treatment facilities, toilets, greenhouses and other philanthropic undertakings. The crucial element is to work closely with the people of the village to determine how we can be most helpful. It’s the Balinese people that matter the most in these situations and they tell us what projects will be best. We take great care not to impose our ways and values upon them, but instead listen and cooperate to find what might be most helpful.
Floating Leaf provides free English and Yoga classes to the people of our community and all Balinese are welcome to come participate. We work with local farmers to subsidize their crops so they can grow more nutritious, organic produce. We offer free classes in permaculture and organic gardening to local farmers and try to help where we can. Floating Leaf has donated computers to our local village and will help teach computer skills as well.
Please contact us today to see how you can do your part as well.

If you’re here for a ten or fourteen day vacation, spending just one afternoon giving back to the wonderful Balinese people can quite easily be the highlight of your trip. Always check with your guide before contributing to make sure your time and effort go to the most in need.
Thanks Dino
I continue to hear from past participants (even 5-7 years ago) and they always say that their time spent doing charitable or philanthropic activities in Bali was the most memorable and rewarding. Even if people visit Bali for a few days, we can include some time with the good people in less fortunate areas of Bali.
Warm regards,
Michael
This is really pulling at all the heart strings. I know I am here for a reason. Girlfriends and I will be in Bali for the first time in a couple of weeks. Please highlight how we can too give back to the Balinese people. Thanks.
Hello Brittany and thank you so very much for your email and post.
We are thrilled that you feel this way and we share your passion and desire to help. I am currently working on several philanthropic projects and would love to include you.
Other items that are easy to bring and are helpful include small kitchen items, medical supplies and even toys for the children. Ultimately, just bring whatever you feel is best and is not a burden for you to bring along with you.
I look very forward to meeting you and I commend you and your group on such thoughtful and important intentions.
Please let me know what additional questions I can answer for you and I will be in touch with you with some specifics via email.
Warmest regards,
Mikaku
