Its been merely a month and the accolades continue to come in. We are humbled and honored. Here are just a few of the recent kudos Floating Leaf has garnered along with the newest images of Bali’s most innovative eco-retreat.
One of the world’s largest newspapers, USA Today, declares Floating Leaf,
“A serene, zen experience with yoga, an indoor and outdoor spa, and an adjacent organic permaculture farm, Floating Leaf is dedicated to healthy nutrition interspersed with the tranquility of a sustainable retreat. Cooking classes provide guests with a glimpse into ancient traditions, as the owners are descendants from a family of chefs who are practiced in the art of perfecting traditional recipes for generations.”
Floating Leaf is strategically located close to the beach and popular tourist areas such as Sanur and Ubud, but is far enough away to avoid the congestion, pollution and ills that Bali’s touristed areas suffer from. For more on Floating Leaf’s perfect location click here.

The Ultimate Relaxation Pool was created specifically for Bali’s ‘pool culture’. Due to Bali’s warm tropical climate, much of life is enjoyed in the pool. Having never been in a pool that was well suited to a variety of activities other than swimming, it was Mikaku’s personal mission to craft a space where multiple activities can be equally enjoyed. In the photo below, the left side was hand sculpted to allow different body shapes and sizes to enjoy numerous reclining positions for a variety of activities such as reading, lounging, drinking and at the bottom of the photo, dining. The middle section offers a generous 56 foot (17 meter) lap pool and the right portion features three fountains that can be used for shoulder and head massages and two lotus seats for meditation, yoga or other activities. The dark section on the middle right of the photo is a hanging canopy chair, the ultimate perch for relaxation. Just to the right of the hanging chair is an area for romantic waterfall dining. The Ultimate Relaxation Pool not only offers something for everyone, but some thing for everyone at every time of the day and night.
The pool is also equipped with a chroma-therapy lighting system. The early Greek, Egyptian and Chinese civilizations, recognizing that nothing grows in the absence of light and various spectrums of light influence the body and mind in profound ways. They theorized that the multitude of colors that make up visible light had individual powers that influence emotions and systems of the body. Today, many recognize chromatherapy as helpful holistic healing method. Varied hues evoke different responses in different people, often because of emotional connections from the past. Civilizations and scholars much more intelligent than I consider light to be the language by which our body communicates through its chakras, or our primary energy centers that resonate to the frequency of a specific color. When these energy centers become misaligned, color and light are used to restore the balance where it may be disharmonious – be it emotionally, physically, spiritually, or mentally. Chromatherapy is said to effectively used to stimulate the flow of energy and balance the body’s aura. This is the theory, but we let you decide. At the very least, the color programed lights offer a peaceful and romantic experience.
