Pop Up Yoga Bali Retreat with Angelica Olstad comes to Floating Leaf Eco-Retreat January 22-31, 2014
Angelica and the team of Pop Up Yoga NYC are thrilled to offer their first destination yoga retreat in Bali. This unique one of a kind retreat brings the Pop Up Yoga style to a whole new level. Where most retreats focus on advanced poses this retreat is designed for beginners and yoga enthusiasts alike. Classes will focus on learning basic anatomy necessary for building strong technique for a solid foundation in developing their own yoga practice. Each class will focus on acceptance, mindfulness, and empowerment based off of scientifically proven methods and research. Of course, no retreat would be complete without the option of scuba diving, surfing, or partaking in Balinese ritual healing ceremonies for those who are interested.
In addition to daily classes, there will be a day of service where members of the retreat will give back to the Bali community. It is our hope that this retreat will offer a life changing opportunity to experience a vibrant and rich culture, gain a deeper understanding of yoga, and have a renewed sense of purpose, perspective, and practical skills for improving overall health and wellness in everyday life.
About Angelica Olstad
Angelica is a 200 HR RYT living in New York City. She is the founder, CEO, and principal teacher for Pop Up Yoga NYC, a yoga company that takes yoga out of the studio and into urban spaces. She first began teaching for incarcerated teens in Brooklyn and it was through her experience teaching there she developed her philosophy to make yoga accessible, open level, and affordable for urban dwellers. A classically trained musician by trade Angelica began her practice in yoga as a way to cope with performance anxiety and the stresses of being a career musician. She is also a writer, a pedagogue of music, and a motivational speaker. Her teaching style focuses on intelligent application of body movement to strengthen coordination, mind, and physical health. In addition to thoughtful sequencing Angelica contextualizes traditional yoga philosophy to everyday lifeand circumstances in a frank, accessible, and often humorous manner. She specializes in yoga for beginners and open level classes.
