About Cat Rhyne and Floating Leaf
Cat Rhyne is a licensed Massage Therapist for twenty years and Reiki Master since 1999. She also practices Essential OILTherapy and has studied with experts such as Milli Austin, author of the “Healing Bath”. Cat began practicing what she calls Mindful Healing in 1996 after her first Reiki attunement and has spent many years enjoying hands on healing and working intuitively with people’s angels and guides. In 2003, she traveled to Thailand and New Zealand to study thai yoga massage and her inner nomad was awakened!
Cat travelled abroad for a year in 2003-2004 seeing many places and enjoying the company of many other adventurers. Since then, she has travelled extensively whenever she can, balancing her work with her passion for travel. She feels blessed to have visited numerous countries and faraway places. And while on an Alaskan Cruise, was introduced to a new friend who suggested she move to Cambria, California. She took her friend’s advice and had been living blissfully by the ocean since 2008. The move has somewhat decreased her desire to travel, but Bali is certainly an exception.
In late 2011, Cat was introduced to Maryam and Michael Doliveck and began planning a trip to Bali in October of 2012. It was fabulous! She could not wait to SHARE this lovely and awe-inspiring island with others. And seeing Bali with the Dolivecks was a joyous surprise. Ordinarily, Cat enjoys discovering places on her own, through meeting locals and following her intuition. But seeing Bali with Maryam who is Indonesian, and Michael who has cultivated a love of Indonesia (especially Bali) for more than 20 years, was exceptional.
Sacred and Spiritual Bali
So when Cat discovered that Michael and Maryam (also known as Mikaku and Putu) were building an eco-retreat center in Bali (Floating Leaf) and going to be hosting tours and groups, she was onboard immediately. Her original plan was to spend most of the 11 days seeing healers, also known as Balians. But quickly realized that whoever she brought to Bali had to experience as much of it as possible. Hence, the varied and fun itinerary you will find here. There will be plenty of opportunity to see Balians if that is what you want to do. Or, you may decide to do other activities that are available.
What Cat hopes participants will take away from this retreat is the rich flavor of this incredible place and the people who live here. Bali is sacred, spiritual, balanced and you will find beauty wherever you look. The scenery is breathtaking, the people lovely, and the adventures are boundless.
One last note on the retreat: the entire upper floor of the villa is available for yoga, meditation, or anything we would like to use it for. I studied and facilitated Ecstatic Dance and Trance Dance for many years and would love to facilitate some dancing if anyone is interested. If anyone else has some skill they would enjoy SHARING with the group, that would be welcomed, as well. Floating Leaf consists of only 6 rooms and our group will have exclusive use of the facilities.
