Awakening Within… Creating a Soul Path

Awakening Within… Creating a Soul Path

Our desire is that participants will come together in a sacred space and create community and connection not only within but with others, nature and the space we share. Traditional and yoga-inspired techniques will be learned and practiced with a fresh beginners mind. Each guest will create, modify and learn how to maintain an effective (one that works) personal formal and informal yoga practice for self-care. This is intimate and personal and we look forward to bringing a unique perspective to a healing practice that allows for transformation and lasting change. We are also excited to bring this retreat to Bali and particularly Floating Leaf Eco Retreat Center. We will not only engage in structured practice, but we will take our practice into the community with a volunteer project and excursions for immersing ourselves into the Balinese culture through activities and plenty of free time to rest or play. This retreat is a unique opportunity for you to awaken to your fullest healing potential and connect deeply to your innermost nature… your soul. Additionally, Massage Therapists can earn all 24 required CEs for NC License renewal and Yoga Teachers can earn 21. All CEs are approved.

RETREAT DETAILS

This 8 day self-care retreat is two- fold. The morning sessions (Saturday-Thursday 8:30-11a), “Yoga a personal practice” with Jeri, focus on creating a personal formal (postures, breathing and concentration techniques) and informal (perceptions, stress management, gratitude and mindfulness) yoga practice for self-care in order to facilitate wellness in all areas of health- physical, energetic, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, social and environmental.

We will come together in a sacred circle to learn a smattering of yoga history and philosophy as well as practice yoga postures, breathing, and focused concentration techniques. How to cultivate more mindfulness (taking 3 meals in silence), gratitude (engaging in a 3 hr. karma yoga project) and positive perceptions for managing stress will be introduced as well as small group sharing, discussion and journaling. This portion along with a 3 hour Ethics component (Monday 11a-2p) is approved by the NCBTMB for 24 self-care CEs and by Yoga Alliance (minus the Ethics) for 21.

All participants are encouraged to attend the morning sessions whether CEs are needed or not to create a sense of community and cohesiveness with the retreat participants.

The evening sessions (Saturday-Thursday 7-9p), “Re~Connect to S*E*L*F with Carrie, focus on using yoga practices including postures and meditation as well as journaling and discussion to reflect, discover and re~connect to who you are now and where you want to go. This course is NOT approved for Massage Therapy OR Yoga Alliance approved CEs.

We also encourage all participants to attend this portion as it dovetails nicely with the morning sessions and continues the process of creating intimacy, community and opportunities for reflection.

The overarching goal for the morning and evening sessions is to create a path to the soul through practices that encourage an awakening into more moments of mindfulness for each participant. When we come from this space, we begin to live more fully… touch life deeply.

Participation in ALL morning sessions and the Ethics portion are required if you are receiving 24 CEs for North Carolina Massage Therapy and Bodywork License Renewal and/or 21 CEs for Yoga Alliance Certification Renewal.

Attendance in all sessions is strongly encouraged for EVERYONE regardless of needing CEs as the nature of this retreat is to create intimacy and a strong sense of connection and community.

This is personal.
Expect change.
