A Step into Paradise…

What could be better than a trip to Bali?

How about a trip to Bali with twice daily yoga classes and featuring a week at the beautiful Floating Leaf Eco-Luxury Retreat. And I do believe calling it “luxury” is an understatement.

Daily yoga classes will be practiced on our round Mandala Yoga Mats, led by Desiree Kleemann, creator of these mats.  Classes will be held in the open-air outdoor yoga pavilion with sweeping 360 degree views of the rice fields, Indian Ocean and outlying islands.  In the morning you’ll flow through a practice on a beautiful round mat (yours to take home), and in the late afternoon it will be gentle and restorative. Each class is tailor made around a music playlist that will take you on a journey, from your first yogic breath to the stillness of Savasana.

Floating leaf is located on the southeast side of the island, situated amidst serene rice paddies with the Indian Ocean and beautiful beach’s a short walk away.   The retreat center is nestled between the villages of Sukawati and Pantai Purnama, away from the busy roads of other communities in Bali. The beautifully appointed rooms have private bathrooms with the option of single or double accommodations.  As well as a healing pool with chromo therapy lighting, there is a delicious restaurant where we will share 3 meals a day, a beautiful spa where you will receive a 60 minute massage included in the price of your retreat package, and quiet places to sit, reflect or read.

We will also take an adventure out of the retreat center for two guided outings; one to Siring Water Temple and another to the village of Keliki. Group outings are optional, if you prefer you may choose to explore on your own, lounge by the pool, or head out to the beach. Remember this retreat is all about you and what you choose to partake in is your choice.

ABOUT YOUR RETREAT LEADER

Over the course of the last two decades, Desiree Kleemann has taught yoga in her studio in Point Roberts, Washington, a small community along the US/Canadian border. Early on in that process she developed a flow-style yoga based on her earlier years as a professional modern dancer, and incorporating the teachings of the many artists, yogis and yoginis she studied with. Drawing from that Modern Dance experience as well as instructors such as Shiva Rea, Sharon Gannon, Sarah Powers and Judith Lasater, Desiree encourages students to find their own creative flow in their yoga practice.

Professional dance takes its toll on a body, and dancers, much like athletes, can come out of their profession with a myriad of chronic pains from the daily pounding they put their bodies through. Desiree was in that same boat, and when she came into the practice of yoga, she found she could not only alleviate many of these aches and pains, but also counteract the causes of these injuries and strengthen the core of the body against recurrences.

In her practice and her teachings, Desiree starts with a slow, complete warm-up of the entire body, easing into flowing movement through traditional yoga poses set to a creative selection of music. All this on unique six foot round Mandala Yoga Mats – a mat Desiree created through her desire to move through yoga sequences facing any and all directions. The shape represents a Mandala, a circle, an essence of wholeness, with no beginning or end, a continuous flow. To “experience the freedom of movement.” It is not a mat just for exercise, it is a mat to be creative on and enhance your yoga practice, experiencing the freedom of facing every direction in a flowing practice.

“When I step onto my mat I come home to the combination of my Modern Dance experience and my Yoga. I feel blessed and thankful every day to be able to teach others to help them find their own creative flow.”
