A daily yoga and meditation practice is very powerful, and some say, life-changing. This retreat is designed for all levels of practitioners, and with twice daily practices you will gradually become familiar with what feels right for you in building a regular practice of self-care. Are you new to yoga? You’ll learn the basics over the week. An advanced practitioner? With the guidance of a skilled and experienced teacher you will have opportunity to deepen your practice. Curious about other schools and styles of yoga? Create diversity in your practice by experiencing Yin, Yoga Nidra, Restorative Yoga, Partner Yoga, and Iyengar-influenced styles of yoga, in addition to the more popular vinyasa flow style. Our retreat center has all the necessary props, and we’ll use them all in our week together! The small group size and extended sessions allow for one-on-one guidance and assistance to refine your yoga practice. In addition to asana, we will also explore pranayama, meditation, and engage in reflection of balance integrated into our day.

Around this framework, you’ll have the knowledge and skill of Floating Leaf Retreat staff to show you the sights and sounds of Bali. You’ll have an entire “free day” mid-week. You’ll return home with skills refined in a week of yoga exploration, as well as a more grounded, grateful, and rejuvenated self. You’ll have also experienced the colorful, rich culture of Bali and the warmth and hospitality of Floating Leaf Retreat.

ABOUT YOUR RETREAT LEADER

Althea Cervantes, E-RYT 500, C-IAYT, RN
 is a sought-after yoga teacher and therapist, Althea has been teaching yoga and leading yoga retreats for 20 years. Her extensive studies, certifications and experience, both on the mat and off, inform her personal teaching style, blending the benefits of different yoga traditions. Highly personalized, creative, and often exploratory, Althea’s teachings encourage mindfulness and softening blended with inner and outer strength and focus. Her classes emphasize form and alignment, as well as building of somatic awareness in her students.

Althea is also a certified Yoga Therapist, applying the principles and theoretical framework of yoga interwoven with her knowledge as a health care professional (RN) to support her clients on their healing journey.

When Althea is not teaching yoga or helping her private clients, you’ll find her spending time with friends and family, cuddling with her pup, dancing, or playing the piano.
