Bali Photo of the Day ~ Bad-Ass Rice Farmer ~ Yoga Retreat

Today’s Bali photo comes from a recent yoga retreat excursion to Amed.

Amed is one of our favorite spots for a weekend getaway as it offers peace and quiet, resplendent snorkeling, and dramatic volcano views. For more images and information on Amed just check out Great Insider’s Travel Tips to Amed, Bali on our sister site Balifornian Tours.

The road to Amed runs over the verdant mountains and valleys of Eastern Bali and dumps you out amidst lush rice fields. We spotted this stately figure in a state of repose during an afternoon of harvesting his crop. The shiny Arit, (the curved blade sickle used in rice harvests and other agricultural tasks), and the billowing smoke first caught my eye. Upon closer inspection, the man’s expression and sarong, completed the feel for the image and I present it to you now…
